Saraya Brown

Saraya Brown is currently a sophomore at Mount Pleasant High School in Wilmington, Delaware. A talented young leader with a strong love for the Lord and her family, Saraya continues to grow in faith, leadership, academics, community service, dance, and entrepreneurship.

Saraya’s leadership journey began at just seven years old at Walking in the Word Ministries, where she helped lead children’s Bible study and participated in volunteer efforts to give back to her community. These early experiences helped develop her confidence, compassion, leadership skills, and desire to serve others.

An aspiring teacher, dancer, and young entrepreneur, Saraya began dancing at the age of five with the Rose Hill Community Center Dance School. It was during her first recital that she discovered dance was more than an activity—it was her true passion and a meaningful way for her to express herself.

At the age of nine, Saraya joined Girls With Pearls, where she continues to be an active member and has grown tremendously as a young woman and leader. Through the organization, she has strengthened her etiquette, leadership, dance, and social skills. In 2023, Saraya was named 3rd Runner-Up in the Miss Girls With Pearls Pageant and has also been recognized with the Academic Achievement Award, Circle of Excellence Award, and Leadership Award for her accomplishments, dedication, and commitment to personal growth. The skills and experiences she gained through Girls With Pearls have helped prepare her to take on leadership roles in both her school and community, including serving on school and community councils, participating in track and field, and becoming co-captain of her cheerleading team.

For the past three years, Saraya has continued developing her passion for dance with Melodic Movements. Through hard work and dedication, she advanced to Level 3, the program’s highest level, and has grown from learning choreography to creating her own. Saraya has also performed professional solo dance presentations at churches and special events, allowing her to share her talent and love of dance with others.

Saraya has big dreams for her future. She plans to graduate from high school, attend and graduate from college, pursue her passion for teaching and dance, and one day continue her dance journey with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York.

Through every accomplishment, Saraya remains grounded in her faith, love for family, commitment to excellence, and desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Her favorite Scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, beautifully reflects the faith and hope she carries for her future.
